About me and my therapy practice

Welcome, I am Tracey and I provide private and confidential therapy for your emotional mental health and wellbeing. I have worked with NHS IAPT, Public sector setting such as the Metropolitan Police Service, secondary educational settings working with children and young people, and various charities who specialise working with adults abused in childhood. I provide counselling to individual clients, and i have delivered wellness groups and classes.

I am a BACP Registered Counsellor, working with clients presenting with a wide range of issues (but not limited to) the following; anxiety, low mood, depression, loss and grief, to more complex childhood issues, trauma, PTSD and self harm.   I am passionate about helping others, whether it is about themselves, their relationships or the world around them and dedicated to making a positive impact on their lives.

Tracey Simpson Therapy is a trauma informed practice, drawn from my experiences of working directly with trauma and understanding the neuroscience of how past pain sits within our mind and body, affecting how we feel, behave, our relationships and wellness. I support client by using body methods such as breathwork and meditation to self regulate our nervous system and manage stress responses.

I also use Play Therapy as a way of helping people understand and express thoughts and feelings.

It is important to me that you feel accepted and safe with me at what is most likely a vulnerable time and I work at your pace to build a trusting, confidential relationship. I also encourage self-care in the people I see.

I work from an Integrative Approach, drawn from counselling, which includes, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma Informed and Solution Focused Therapy.

Practice description

I offer a talking therapy in a confidential, trusting, warm and welcoming environment in which you have a safe space to explore your worries and concerns , In a non judgmental environment, in order to aid your personal growth and bring about change.  Tracey Simpson Therapy is a warm, safe space for you to explore your feelings, be listened to, heard and understood, so you won't feel isolated and alone anymore. I take a holistic approach to understand you as a whole person

I am an integrative therapist which means I am able to approach each individual with different tools and with what might be useful to you, your individual situation and your personality. Hopefully, I can help you understand feelings, patterns of behaviour and problems in the present that might come from the past, and help empower you to heal, find peace and find your authentic self.

My practice is inclusive regardless of gender, identity, sexuality, race or culture. I have significant experience working with marginalised client groups and communities. I have a passion for working with clients in different countries and time zones which lends itself well to online remote therapy. So you can pick the therapist of your choice rather than the regional restrictions.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, over-thinking and unable to 'switch off' from your thoughts. Anxious, low and more tearful than usual. Angry and struggling to regulate your emotions, or able to relax? These are signs that you would benefit from therapy. Similarly, if you are hard on yourself and lacking in compassion, healthy habits and self-care, we can find peace and calm, with motivational techniques to enhance your daily living.

No matter what stage you are at in your life or in your relationships, you can discover a happier, confident and more content self. I believe that when it comes to your mental health and well-being it is important to have a safe, experienced professional that you can turn to.

My first session

It’s really important you find the right therapist for you to work with. In order to support you I can offer a free 15 minute phone call or online session or a 50 minute trial session for a reduced fee to help you decide if you would like to start therapy with myself.  This should give you a good idea of what it might be like to work with me with no pressure to continue.

You may be at a crossroads in your life, have experienced a life event such as bereavement and/or loss, redundancy, retirement, family breakdown or be in need of space to share what you are going through. We can face difficult challenges, whether a recent event or triggered from the past. In therapy we often need to explore our past, however, the aim is not to blame, but to understand, with compassion, to change our meaning, our narrative and our sense of ourselves and our story. I work at a gentle pace that feels right for you and so you can feel in control, it's your therapy, your healing.
