About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel like the emotional baggage of life is weighing you down? Would you like someone you can explore your thoughts with? Who can help you navigate the messiness of life with, and start to unpick and make sense of your experiences? My name is Emma, and I am a compassionate, friendly and professional psychotherapist who can help you navigate who you are and start to build the life you want.
I am also a registered adult nurse with over ten years of experience working with long term conditions and terminal illness. I believe our mental and physical health are inextricably linked and my work aims to shine a light on how these two aspects interact in your life.
My approach is to guide you through your experiences, both past and present, and for us to work together to create an understanding of who you are in the world and how you interact with your environment, paving the way for a more authentic you.
I hold professional, personal, and civil indemnity insurance and work in accordance with the BACP’s Ethical Framework. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Practice description
My approach shares its roots with humanistic, existential and phenomenological philosophies which I use in conjunction with integrative practices. This can involve the use of more practical tools to guide us through what you choose to bring to our work together.
I don’t believe there is a one size fits all approach to life’s problems. I do believe that there is a way of being in the world and navigating what life brings to you that is authentic and true to you, and only you. It is in finding this path that you can truly experience all that life has to offer. Together we will explore what it means to live in this world as you, taking into consideration your past experiences, present circumstances, and the social and cultural impact of your world on you.
