About me and my therapy practice
Welcome
I am a psychotherapist and cousellor working both online and face to face in the Peterborough area.
Life can be difficult and navigating its challenges can be hard. Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, worried about the future, or your mind is preoccupied with events or feelings about the past. Maybe relationships are difficult, you have lost someone or it is getting difficult to get out of bed in the mornings.
Each person will have a different reason and set of circumstances for starting therapy, it can feel a little daunting. In our sessions, we can work together in a safe and confidential space to unpick whatever is going on for you.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life, even though right now perhaps you don't feel that way. I can offer a warm, friendly and compassionate space where I hope you will begin to feel safe enough to share your thoughts and feelings. As a humanistic and Integrative therapist, I hope to support you to find meaning in your relationships and experiences and promote wellbeing and growth.
I work to support clients with a range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and trauma. During the last few years, I have deepened my understanding, working with clients that have experienced loss and bereavement through my work with Cruse Bereavement Care.
I can offer both short and long-term therapy, face-to-face or online to suit client needs. For new clients, I offer a 15-minute free telephone conversation where we can discuss if therapy is right for you.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within an ethical framework for professional practice. I undertake a high level of continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure I offer best practice, by regularly updating my knowledge and understanding.
Practice description
My practice is based in two locations within the Peterborough area where I offer both face-to-face and online sessions.
My first session
Our first session together will look a little different from our sessions going forward. In this initial session, we will together look at a therapeutic assessment in order to get a better understanding of what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve from our sessions, any hopes or goals. This session is a chance for me to answer any questions you may have regarding how I practice and what the session may look like going forward. A good therapist and client relationship is important in therapy this session provides a good opportunity to see that we can work together well.
