About me and my therapy practice
Life can sometimes feel confusing, you may feel overwhelmed or stuck. Perhaps, you have experienced anxious thoughts, change, loss, or relationship difficulties. Events such as these can be difficult to make sense of and leave you feeling unsure or unsettled. Through counselling, I can offer you a unique opportunity to explore concerns, challenges, or anxieties.
I am a qualified Psychodynamic (Psychotherapeutic) Counsellor, with over eight years' experience supporting clients, dealing with a wide range of difficulties and challenges. I have experience of counselling both within a counselling service and in my private practice. I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can feel safe to express your thoughts and feelings and I will work with you to explore whatever arises.
Working Psychodynamically, means I will listen carefully to whatever you share with me and to how you understand your current and previous experiences, relationships, and family history and to consider, with you, how these may shape your beliefs.
Having someone to talk to in confidence can, help identify obstacles, facilitate growth and a new awareness of yourself in the world. When you feel supported and not alone, you can better cope with difficulty, so that life becomes more manageable.
Practice description
My counselling practice is in a quiet, comfortable and confidential space, located just outside Bishops Waltham, with free on street parking.
My nearest towns are Bishops Waltham, Fareham and Hedge End. Additionally, I have worked with clients from Winchester, Chichester and Southampton.
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at the same time, on the same day, each week.
My standard fee is £50per session for in person counselling.
I have a small number of reduced-fee spaces for clients/students on low income. Please discuss if needed.
My first session
It can be difficult choosing a therapist and the client/counsellor relationship is an important part of the counselling process. Arranging an initial session will give you the opportunity to try counselling and enable us to see what it might be like to work together.
During this session you will have the opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling and to ask me any questions you may have about therapy.
I will ask some general questions and I can share a little about the type of therapy I offer and how we might work together.
When you feel ready, please get in touch, to arrange an initial session, by email.
