Practice description
I am an “integrative” therapist using a variety of approaches depending on the needs of each client. Integrative therapy blends and employs varying therapy techniques curated to address a client’s individual circumstances, life experiences, beliefs and goals.
My approach is collaborative, practical and personal. I believe that human beings are naturally resilient and have an incredible capacity for change when in the right supportive environment. We are often held back by our core beliefs and by bringing awareness to our repeated patterns of behaviour, we can identify areas where we are “stuck” and are held there by our limiting core beliefs. My aim is to help clients make space for new possibilities and new ways of being by challenging these core beliefs together.
From my experience, many people come into therapy wanting to understand themselves better, and to gain a better understanding of why they are the way they are, why they have particular issues, and why they are repeatedly experiencing the same patterns in their personal relationships. This can manifest itself in physical symptoms as well. Understanding “the why” can be a liberating first step that can help us move to the next phase of breaking and changing these patterns. My goal is to help clients through this journey.
I completed my training at Regents University London, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy. My earlier academic background focused on neuropsychology and the study of human behaviour which led me to my passion and interest in helping people understand themselves on a deeper level, both mentally and physically.
It is well established that the mind and body are deeply interconnected and that our mental well-being can affect our physical well-being, and vice versa. I have a particular interest in this intersection, particularly as it relates to health issues such as Chronic Pain, Long Covid, ME/Fibromyalgia, and unexplained or “undiagnosed” health issues.
My first session
Therapy is a very personal endeavour and it is important to have the right fit. It can be daunting to start therapy, or to change therapists. For this reason, I offer potential clients a free 15 minute session to learn about how I work, to assess your goals and to decide if we are a good fit to work together going forward.
Please get in touch if you would like to explore this.
