About me and my therapy practice
Hi. I understand how difficult some first steps can feel and that the thought of beginning counselling may indeed feel daunting.
Counselling is a unique opportunity to be heard, supported and understood to help change aspects of our lives that aren't working well for us.
Working together, I can help you explore and make sense of problems from your past, look at anxieties about your future or see what is affecting you here and now. Held in a safe and confidential space, our counselling sessions are a collaboration between you and I to help you look at any problems, difficult feelings or needs for growth you may have.
I am trained at masters level in a pluralistic approach to therapy. This approach draws its ability for psychological help from multiple therapeutic methods which provide helpful insights and self-awareness to emerge as you pursue change.
Practice description
I practice from home and specialise working with young and mature adults.
I can provide bespoke counselling either face to face or online. During our sessions you can be confident you will be fully heard and our work together will help you look for solutions to whatever has brought you to therapy.
I work at your pace in a thoughtful, non-judgemental and empathetic way to help you achieve your goals.
Please look up my website (www.colinmilne.net) for full details of my practice.
My first session
Prior to meeting I provide a free phone call to help us both decide if we are a good fit for working together. This also gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about how this all works.
A huge part of counselling is the therapeutic relationship. So when you arrive for your first session, we are really just beginning the process of getting to know one another. We can begin at your pace while we explore what brings you to counselling.
I don't ask you to do anything prior to arriving as we will work out what's needed once we begin.
