About me and my therapy practice

I understand reaching out for counselling can sometimes feel daunting.  I would like to reassure you that if you requested me as your counsellor,  we would work together at your pace,  to explore the issues you find challenging. Through supporting you building on your inner resources, exploring your options,  increasing your self understanding moving towards a happier and more positive way forward with your life.

As a fully qualified SW London based therapist and member of the BACP, I am guided by their Code of Ethics.

I am an accredited  member of the NCPS ( National Counselling and Psychotherapy Service).

My Integrative approach includes Psychodynamic , Person-Centred /Humanistic theories and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) . I adapt my counselling approach according to each clients’ individual needs.

I have training integrating Creative practice,  which can take the form of 'freely' expressing using different media which may include clay, painting drawing, stitching. For some clients this can be therapeutically beneficial,  or if struggling with finding the words to express how they feel.

We can sometimes get stuck or overwhelmed in our lives and I do believe counselling is a powerful healer and vehicle for change, by exploring feelings and developing strategies for coping with life challenges and difficulties.

Practice description

Working relationally, I tailor my approach to allow your needs to guide our work. I aim to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental approach for clients’ to feel safe, in a confidential space, to share difficult feelings and feel they are being listened to.

I often draw from a Person-Centred approach in helping my clients’ find ways to cope and begin to think about solutions for the challenges they face, which we would explore together. Working collaboratively at your pace, helping you to manage feelings, explore choices and develop your own inner resources. Together we would identify the difficulties you are experiencing, understanding their impact on your life and use strategies to work through what may be holding you back from living the life you really want to be living.

Some clients come to me with emotional difficulties such as anxiety, stress, depression, or struggling with low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Others come to therapy with family, relationship, college or workplace challenges. Some are experiencing loss or bereavement issues. Sometimes people come for personal development, feeling loss of purpose and experiencing these alone is often difficult.

My aim for our work together would be to provide comfort, a deeper understanding of yourself, and a sense of what options you have for enabling seeing things with fresh perspectives, which can open up new possibilities, helping you to achieve more positive connections with both yourself and others. I strongly believe given the right support, through learning ways to overcome old beliefs and behaviours, we have a capacity to find our own answers and so develop a sense of self-direction which leads us to more enhanced fulfilment in our lives.
