About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Katharine, an integrated counsellor and therapeutic coach. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals through the pain of infertility, pregnancy and baby loss. I have experience of working with grief, life transitions and peaceful parenting; alongside a range of issues.
I believe strongly in the transformative power of talking therapy: connecting with another human in a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental space.
I work with adults, in person and online, at Space To Be You in East London.
Practice description
You may be experiencing pain or difficulty in your life or relationships and feel you need some support. You may like space to reflect on where you are in your life and what direction you would like to take. I can provide a warm, compassionate and safe space for this.
I believe that effective therapy is only possible when a trusting, genuine relationship has been built. I take great care in creating strong relationships with my clients and work in an open-ended manner. My training covered various therapeutic approaches, enabling me to tailor my work to the needs of each individual.
I practise the Personal Consultancy model which integrates counselling with future-focused coaching. I can work with you to identify your aspirations and align these with your values, alongside helping to foster understanding of where barriers to growth may come from and how to address these.
I aim to support you in understanding your behaviour and your responses to everyday living, to feel liberated in building a fulfilled life and resilient in embracing all that it means to be human.
I previously volunteered at City Pregnancy Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have a particular interest in supporting people going through the pain of pregnancy or baby loss, fertility challenges and post-natal depression. I have trained in ante-natal education so have a solid understanding of the world of pregnancy and the perinatal period.
I have trained with Dr Laura Markham in supporting parents adopting a Peaceful Parenting model of parenting. I am passionate about the huge benefits to families of a calm, regulated approach to bringing up children.
I have also volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care and am experienced in supporting people through the pain and disorientation of bereavement.
I am a member of the BACP, follow their ethical guidelines and undertake regular supervision to support my work and my clients.
