About me and my therapy practice
Hi I am Katherine and I am a qualified psychotherapist with many years of experience working with people who are going through challenges in their lives.
Being an integrative psychotherapist, I am trained in a variety of techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you. While we talk together, we can explore who you are as an individual and whatever personal circumstances or problems you may want to discuss.
One of the most important parts of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist and I hope to establish a warm and non-judgemental space where you will feel comfortable and safe to discuss whatever you may be struggling with.
Practice description
Whether on the phone, in person or online you will have the freedom to explore any issues you may wish to bring, at your own pace. Often people struggle in relationship with themselves or with others; there may be experiences you have had in childhood or you may have a difficult decision to make. In therapy with me you will be able to talk through thoughts, feelings and behaviours and develop a greater sense of understanding and acceptance.
I work in a trauma-informed way, conscious that many feelings and experiences can be difficult to talk about. Sometimes the hardest part is taking the first step and reaching out, especially if what you are going through or have been through seems difficult to put into words. I am trained to support you to do this and to help you identify and make any changes in your life you feel may improve the quality of your life.
I very much look forward to meeting you.
My first session
My first session is free of charge and lasts 20-30 minutes. This gives us time to meet each other and to help me understand what brings you to therapy. You will also have an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
I hope that during this time you will feel reassured and hopeful about working together.
All subsequent sessions normally last one hour.
