About me and my therapy practice
In one-to-one psychotherapy sessions I provide a confidential setting that will encourage you to reflect on your journey. We will explore the feelings, emotions and impact significant events have had on the way you experience day-to-day life. I specialise in anxiety, depression and men's related issues such as intimacy issues and relationship challenges. We will work through your thought process moving towards the version of you that you've always wanted to be. Who is that person? Are they confident in themselves? And most importantly, do they allow themselves to smile, laugh and be happy?
Anxiety, depression and men's issues are far more common than you might think. Far less common is the number of men courageous enough to tackle these issues. The only way to overcome the challenges you're facing is to confront them head on. I know it takes a huge effort to do that but together, it can be achieved.
It's important you choose the right therapist for your needs. I work quite intensely and aim to empower you to have the tools to reach your full potential. At times, it might be hard work, you might need to take action, make changes and try new things. Are you ready to do that? Are you ready to grow into the best version of yourself?
Practice description
Hello, I’m Asa. I am a qualified Psychotherapist who specialises in supporting male clients with anxiety, depression and men's related issues.
Men’s related issues is a broad term encompassing many of the challenges we face today.
I’ve listed some of the main complaints below but, as we are all unique, this is by no means a comprehensive list. So please contact me if you feel your issue is not represented here and we can establish a way in which I can help you.
Erectile dysfunction
Not being able to achieve or maintain an erection or ejaculate when in intimate situations.
Inhibited sexual desire
Low or no sex drive
Avoidance of intimacy.
Patterns of behaviour that avoid intimacy with a partner. For example, sabotaging relationships, being distracted during sex, objectifying or sexualising partners. Other examples of intimacy avoidance are seeking emotionally unavailable partners, engaging in hook ups, compulsively pursue one sexual partner after another, having multiple sexual partners at a time.
Sex and porn addiction
Compulsively engaging in unwanted sexual behaviours that often lead to feelings of guilt, shame or regret. Undertaking sexual behaviours that are high risk or dangerous, becoming immobilised by sexual obsessions or fantasies, engaging in sexual activity with people without knowing them.
Infidelity
Being unfaithful to a partner, having multiple sexual or romantic relationships at the same time.
In one-to-one sessions I provide a confidential setting to explore the feelings, emotions and impact significant events have had on the way you experience day-to-day life.
While working through your thought process, I will give you strategies to help you move towards the version of you that you've always wanted to be, free to enjoy healthy, normal relationships and live a life free of depression, obsessions and stress.
In 2024 Asa won the the Psychotherapist of the Year and Corporate Psychotherapist of the Year awards.
My first session
I offer a free, no obligation consultation. The consultation will take place online via Zoom and will last approximately 10 minutes. This is an opportunity for you to share your challenges and to see if we would be able to work effectively together.
Following the consultation, you will receive a link where you can book your first session with me.
During the first session, we will work together to identify the challenges you're facing, where they originate and the impact they are having on you. This session will really set the scene for our work together and help us to identify the path that lays ahead.
I aim to offer a safe, caring and non-judgmental space where you will be accepted as you are so that you may:
- Talk about issues that are causing you physical, mental, emotional or spiritual distress,
- Explore your thoughts and feelings
- Find more appropriate and healthier ways of coping with your issues
- Gain better understanding of yourself and your relationships
- Gain personal insights into your behaviours
- Facilitate positive changes in your life
We will work at your own pace in discovering more about yourself, your life and your challenges. Often psychotherapy helps people to feel more empowered and in control of their lives, more optimistic about the future and generally feeling happier and more content.
