About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Ailsa (she/her) and I am an integrative counsellor with over 20 years experience working with people of all ages, diverse identities and backgrounds, in the creative arts and the higher education sector. I have lived experience of OCD and have special interest in anxiety, depression, and intersectionality.

Practice description

I imagine you are here because you need help to understand or cope with something that is going on in your life right now, either personally or in the world around you. I offer a non-judgemental space for you to discover and explore what is going on, to find a better understanding of why you may feel the way you do.

As a counsellor I believe in the importance of looking back to look forward, that our histories can have an influence on our present but that we are not bound by our pasts and can create and build for a meaningful future. I work in a relational style, meaning I am not here to tell you what to do or have any set answers, but to listen and offer different or new perspectives to help you in your discovery of self and relationship with others.

Whilst we will be mainly talking, I sometimes offer the use of other creative techniques like guided meditation or drawing, if it feels right in the moment.

I work in person in London Bridge, Islington and online via Zoom.
