About me and my therapy practice

Therapist specialising in attachment work. My approach focuses on understanding the significance of early experiences & their impact on the emotional wellbeing and relationships in adulthood. Online sessions for individuals.

Finding a counsellor can feel overwhelming, and taking that first step is often the hardest part. You might be wondering, "How can talking help change things?" Maybe you've tried counselling before without the results you hoped for, or perhaps you've benefited from it in the past and are seeking support again. When life's challenges become too much to handle alone, talking to someone outside your immediate circle of friends and family can provide the clarity and guidance you need.

What Difference Can Counselling Make?

• Coping with Overwhelming Feelings: It helps you cope with and make sense of overwhelming emotions.

• Regaining Inner Stability: It aids in regaining inner stability and balance.

• Breaking Free from Cycles: It helps you stop going in circles and get unstuck.

• Self-Care: It gives you ‘permission’ to be yourself and take care of yourself without feeling guilty.

• Improving Relationships: It can improve your relationships, especially your relationship with yourself.

My Approach: Compassionate, Personalised, Empowering

As a therapist specialising in attachment work, my approach focuses on understanding the significance of early experiences and their impact on emotional wellbeing and relationships in adulthood. Drawing from attachment theory, I provide a warm and gentle therapeutic approach that aims to create a safe space for healing. Each session is customised to suit your unique needs, ensuring you feel heard, understood, and supported.

Practice description

Attachment-based therapy for individuals online

Having myself experienced counselling in the past where I felt heard and understood but often questioned, "Is that all there is?" I've come to realise that I am driven not only to understand my clients' deepest emotional experiences but also to actively contribute to creating meaningful change for them.

This same drive prompted me to pursue further education after becoming a qualified counsellor. I established my foundation as an Integrative therapist and delved into postgraduate studies in Psychodynamic principles. It was during this journey that I became increasingly captivated by Attachment theory. This theory beautifully explains why so many adults internally sense a fundamental lack, which we often seek to fulfil through relationships, personal achievements, and even material possessions, food, alcohol, or substances. I believe that through the lens of Attachment theory introduced by Bowlby, we can discover pathways to a more fulfilling life.

As an attachment-based practitioner, my approach is deeply rooted in understanding and addressing the impact of early relationships on emotional wellbeing. Previously, I worked as a part-time NHS staff counsellor, providing short-term therapy. This role required me to maintain a sharp focus on meeting clients' needs within a limited timeframe, encouraging them to confront and understand their issues while working towards solutions.

My professional journey includes experience in both charitable organisations and NHS secondary mental health care settings. I volunteered with survivors of sexual violence, providing crucial support in their healing process.

PGDip in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, London.

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, CPCAB, UK.
