About me and my therapy practice
My name is Fi, and I am an integrative counsellor. This means that I draw on many different theories to inform my work with you.
Are you seeking support to make sense of life's challenges? I am trained to work with many areas you may want to explore with particular interest in relationships, human connection, attachment, grief and loss.
We all face challenges at some point in our lives and surviving them alone can feel overwhelming. It is my belief that through the relationship we build together we can experience, understand and repair the effects of those challenges. We might look at how you respond to people in your life, or stress, among other things. It can be useful to look at your past influences and how they have impacted your way of being throughout life and in the present.
I sometimes like to use creative arts, poetry, visualisations and dreams to explore your inner world and help you to express what is going on for you. The process may touch on places of sadness or anxiety, but there may be laughter as well – I believe that humour can be a great source of healing.
Our work is confidential and I adhere to the professional ethics and standards of my professional body, BACP (bacp.co.uk), including ongoing professional development.
Practice description
Sometimes in life our mental health suffers and we feel in need of help. Now, more than ever, we are aware of the importance of addressing, not ignoring, this. Depending on our own history, we either reach out to find support or we drive the discomfort inside us, employing alternative strategies to avoid or numb the pain, prolonging and deepening the problems.
I live in Nailsworth, near Stroud, working with clients in a studio at my home. I also work online, allowing us to work together no matter where you are or how limited your time is.
I work in several educational settings and GP surgeries in Gloucestershire, in addition to my private practice.
My first session
