About me and my therapy practice
We all go through difficult times, and we all deserve to have our thoughts and feelings heard. That’s why I offer a warm, comfortable atmosphere in which you can share what’s bothering you, safe in the knowledge that whatever you tell me will be met with compassion and zero judgment. Your experiences, your thoughts and your feelings all have value – I am here to support you to express them and reflect on what they might be telling you.
So, whatever is making you feel stuck, we can talk about it and perhaps find new ways forward together.
I am a qualified counsellor with experience of helping adults with a wide range of difficulties. As an 'integrative' practitioner, I combine techniques and ideas from a range of different counselling modalities and areas of psychological theory. With this blended approach I can tailor the therapeutic experience to meet the needs of each client as an individual.
I primarily combine person centred and psychodynamic modalities. This means that I focus on helping clients handle difficult emotions and become more self aware in the ‘here and now’, while also thinking about how their past experiences have shaped them into the person they are today.
In addition to my core qualifications I have specific training and experience of working with substance use and addictions, domestic abuse, and anxiety.
I also offer counselling to trainee counsellors. If you're studying to attain a qualification in this field, I can offer therapy sessions which will not only enable you to meet your course requirements, but more importantly support deep self exploration and reflection - insight which will support and enhance your future practice.
Practice description
I currently practice online, and can offer sessions on various platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meets. This means I am happy take on clients based in any location. I can also offer telephone counselling, if that might work best for you.
From January 2025 I will begin offering face to face sessions. The venue will be in comfortable, custom-designed counselling rooms, in the Godalming area.
Sessions are scheduled weekly and are 50 minutes in length. There is no maximum or minimum number of sessions that you would need to do. It really is a matter of what works for you as an individual, and we would talk about all of this before beginning - and again at regular review points during - your period of counselling.
Session fees start from £50 per hour, although concessions may be possible depending on circumstances and I am always happy to have the conversation to see if there is a way we can work together, whatever your situation.
Please note that due to increasing costs my fees are due to rise from 1 January, to £55 per session.
My first session
If you are interested in beginning sessions with me, we will first of all book in a 20 minute introductory chat. This will be free of charge and comes with no obligation - it's just an opportunity for us to get to know one another a little, and think about how I might be able to help you. If it feels like a good fit we'll schedule in regular sessions from there.
