About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Hermione,
A qualified Cognitive Behaviour Therapist (CBT) & counsellor using (REBT)Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy with an integrative approach. I have lived experience of OCD, which is well and truly under control. This has driven my passion to help others with OCD, depression, anxiety and other problems.
I offer one to one's, either face to face or via zoom, which ever suits you best. In a safe, confidential, space, for you to talk and work through your problem.

Profile
I trained with the CCBT( College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies) in London. Whilst training I worked with Talking Change, NHS psychological services in Portsmouth as a trainee CBT/REBT Therapist.
I have worked at MIND, as a senior wellbeing advisor. Here I saw clients on a one to one basis and facilitated different groups,
( OCD, Wellbeing, Writing for recovery and Art. )These are some of the things I am very passionate about. Having lived experience of OCD, helps me to help others with a true understanding of what it feels like to live with this disorder. My aim is to help you to deal with your problem, and give you the tools to help you to maintain your own wellbeing in the future.
REBT was pioneered by Albert Ellis in the 1950's. It is a trans-diagnostic, philosophical, evidence-based model of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which is supported by clinical research. REBT looks at the person as a whole rather than as a symptom and teaches a universal model that can be successfully applied to a wide range of different emotional issues. It offers, structure and a philosophy that allows you to make effective and long lasting emotional and behavioural change. A humanistic approach.

Practice description
What you can expect from me.
A safe confidential space to talk about your problem. I will be open and honest with you at all times, non-judgemental and understanding of your problem. Confidentiality is of upmost importance and I work and abide by the BACP code of ethics. Any personal information that is stored will be kept confidential as stated by GDPR guidelines.
REBT is a goal orientated, structured therapy. I will guide you through the process and teach you the model, which will enable you to work through any future problems by yourself. Enabling you to maintain your wellbeing in the future.
As an integrative therapist, I bring in other modalities as and when required. I tailor each session to the person, as it is not a one size fits all! I can bring in Compassion focused therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness and emotional regulation skills.
I use psycho- education to help clients understand their problem, what is keeping them stuck and how to break that cycle.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes and there will be home practice between session. This reinforces the work done in session and prepares the client for the next session.

Qualifications
ABC level 3 in counselling
Diploma in CBT/REBT
Advanced diploma in CBT/REBT with Merit
Advanced Diploma in integrative CBT/REBT with Merit
Certified hypnotherapist (MNGH) / member of National Guild of Hypnotists
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation, for you to ask as many questions as you like about myself and the way I work.
To discuss the problem you would like to work on and to assess if CBT/REBT is a suitable therapy for you and for you to see if I'm a suitable therapist for you.
I'm well aware that not everyone gel's with the first therapist they contact. That is why the consultation is an obligation free option. If I'm unable to help you I may be able to signpost you to a more suitable service.
If you decide to go ahead with me as your therapist, we will discuss fee's and arrange your first appointment.
The first session will be to sign a contract and consent form for me to hold your information, as stated by GDPR guidelines. To gather information about your personal and medical history and to discuss the problem you would like to work on.
