Sessions are 50 minutes long and ideally on a regular weekly basis for you to get the most out of your therapeutic counselling. (I understand that sometimes weekly sessions won't fit in with your lifestyle. This is something we can discuss and work through)
About me and my therapy practice
As an accredited humanistic counsellor (BA Hons) I believe in your unique qualities, I deeply value your life experiences and what has happened to you.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk through your thoughts, experiences, feelings, emotions and behaviours.
With compassion and empathy our work together can help to gain an understanding of the effects that fear, trauma, distress, abuse, anxiety, loss, depression, low mood, and lack of confidence has had on you and your life.
Without knowing it, we can be triggered by our past experiences and traumas but by talking we can identify how these affect feelings and behaviours and work on new coping mechanisms.
I will be there to support you while you work through what might feel like hopeless, distressing and or overwhelming situations, in order for us both to gain a better understanding on what is going on for you. Gaining clarity on the challenges or distress you are facing helps identify choices in front of you, that were not perhaps obvious to you before. Having options may help you feel less trapped in situations.
I will gently encourage you to be open as you can be with me so that our work together in your sessions helps to promote positive change, growth and self-compassion in you.
I will be with you, listen and accompany you on your journey of change, and hope that you will gain your voice and value yourself more than you thought possible.
