About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Daisy.

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor working from a welcoming Therapy Space in Central Bath as well as providing sessions from a bespoke Shepherds Hut space in a rural location between Bath and Frome. I can also provide sessions outdoors on arrangement.

I have always had a deep curiosity in what it is to be human, and a real belief in the possibility of change.  I am passionate about authenticity and finding ways to support myself and others to live life from our full and true selves. I work with all age ranges and have particular experience with working with young adults.

I am a BACP registered and UKCP accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor with a diploma in humanistic and integrative counselling from The Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. (BCPC) Alongside my original training, I am committed to ongoing CPD including have carried out more in depth trainings in Taking Therapy Outdoors, Horse Boy Therapy, Internal Family Systems and more.

Practice description

The humanistic roots of my training means that my work is grounded in the belief that you are an expert on your own life, and that you have within you the capacity to move towards positive change. The Integrative element of my training means that I can draw on a range of approaches to suit your needs. We may look at early life and past experiences, and how they continue to impact you and your ways of being.  We may draw on creative and body focused approaches, the natural world and eco therapy approaches, mindfulness or breath work. I have a particular interest in how the younger parts of ourselves can show up in our lives, and how counselling can help these parts to be heard.

As an integrative counsellor, I like the way that I can be dynamic and flexible in my approach. For me, counselling is about sensitively responding to what you bring and working in a way that feels most helpful for you in your movement towards living life from your true and full self. You can expect me to be warm, honest, sensitive and gently challenging in the counselling relationship as we explore what has brought you to counselling together.

My first session

Finding a counsellor can feel quite daunting and confusing, and it is important that you find the right counsellor for you.

I can offer a 10 minute call as an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have or you can go ahead and arrange a first session and we can go from there.

Our first session will be an assessment session where I will ask more questions than usual as we explore what has brought you to counselling and I try to get a picture of your past and present experience and also your goals or wishes for counselling.

It will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions about counselling that you may have and also for us to go through the contract and the counselling framework.

After the assessment session we can both reflect on how it felt working together and make a decision on whether we will continue to do so and whether you would like to do so on a short term basis or in a longer term more open ended way.

Occasionally it may be felt that I am not the right counsellor for you at this time and in which case I will be happy to signpost you to therapists or approaches which may be more suitable in terms of specialism, availability or experience.
