About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Jessica and I’m an integrative psychotherapist. I work in a relational, trauma-informed way that values honesty, compassion, and collaboration.
We go at a pace that suits you, starting with what your goals are, and together thinking through what you might find helpful. How you are feeling now is primary, we may also unpack childhood experiences and use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.
As well as thoughts and emotions, it can sometimes be useful to bring in psychoeducation, and if it feels safe enough, some focus on our body.
Therapy is a place where the impact of social issues in the world, of oppression and adversity (such as racism, Islamophobia, transphobia, sexism, homophobia, ableism etc) can be acknowledged and validated, plus tools developed to cope.
About me: I have worked in mental health since 2013, working in the NHS, prisons and charities. I am skilled in working directly with people in high levels of distress.
Much of my work has been with those experiencing alternative realities, or psychosis, with the Hearing Voices Network; and I am a trustee for the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis UK (ISPS UK).
I also have considerable experience supporting those working in law, the medical profession and the charity sector in coping with vicarious trauma, and navigating workplace dynamics. This extends to activism burnout and to those doing peer support type roles using their lived experience.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP), working in compliance with their ethical framework.
Qualifications:
- MA in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling from the University of Roehampton
- MA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh

My first session
Our first session is important as relational psychotherapy places our relationship as important for healing. It’s a space for me to find out a bit more about what’s brought you to therapy, and for you to tell me if you’ve any concerns, or questions about our work together.
I offer a free 20 minute chat prior to our first session either on the phone or online.
