About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Jo.
I am a warm, non-judgemental and compassionate, experienced counsellor. I provide an inclusive safe space where you can feel at ease. I help people manage their anxiety in social situations, whether this be around relationship issues, work related stress, or bereavement, for a better life.
Dealing with life's crises can feel overwhelming. Together we have an opportunity to explore any emotions, feelings or concerns you may have and which may arise. I believe that the quality of the relationship between us to be a key part of the therapy
Maybe you feel stuck and unable to shift your thoughts or behaviours. I can support you in unpicking these difficulties and finding a way through the fog. Or you may not feel clear about what led you here. We will work together to unravel what you want from therapy and find a way forward.
Areas I can help with include:
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Bereavement
- Depression
- First Counselling Session
- Grief
- OCD
- Phobias
- Relationships
- Trauma
I look forward to hearing from you.
Practice description
I trained at The Minster Centre and CPPD Counselling School from which I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling.
As a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor, I am able to use different therapeutic approaches to suit each client, rather than following a ‘one size fits all ‘approach, which enables me to work flexibly and inclusively. This approach creates a warm, supportive environment in which clients feel safe. They are then able to work through difficulties that they are experiencing, and face up to challenges in their lives. I offer both short term and long- term therapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the Ethical Framework of the BACP that protects both clients and therapists.
I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
I offer in person sessions in Finchley, N12.
Therapy sessions usually take place weekly and last for 50 minutes.
I also offer online sessions via Zoom.
Sessions cost £65.00 per session. Some concessionary rates are available.
My first session
Our initial session is an opportunity to see how we can work together. During this 50-minute session, we will look at the circumstances that bring you to counselling and I will ask you about your current circumstances and your expectations.
I can also offer a free introductory 15-minute session.
I am based in north London and I'm currently offering face to face sessions in N12. There is parking nearby, and is easily accessible by public transport.
