About me and my therapy practice
Hello/Shwmae. There are times when life is difficult and we can feel quite overwhelmed or do not know which way to turn, talking can be challenging. As a qualified counsellor, I offer you a warm, safe, non-judgmental space and will work alongside you, supporting you to explore your thoughts and feelings.
My aim through my Person Centred approach is to enable you to feel heard. to explore ideas, develop strategies and increase self-awareness, helping you to find your own strength to face the issues that have been troubling you.
Presently I offer online support through video calling and telephone support. As a Welsh speaker I am happy to converse as you feel most comfortable.
Practice description
It takes courage to reach out for counselling, and is sometimes daunting when you do not know what to expect. I aim to make the process as comfortable as possible as I journey with you, through kindness and empathy, sometimes challenging you to explore yourself. It is important for you to feel safe and I will do all that I can to develop a trusting, confidential relationship. My hope is that you feel heard and understood without any judgement. We are all individual and our experiences are unique to us. I truly believe that through understanding, we have the capacity for change. As we discover who we truly are we begin to understand what we want out of life. Making small changes can have a positive impact.
I am experienced in working with adults and volunteer with Pembrokeshire Counselling Service meeting with clients face to face and online.
I am a qualified counsellor and fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) adhering to their ethical guidelines in all of my work. I experienced counselling myself over 30 years ago and that created a spark that led me to qualify as a counsellor in Pembrokeshire College in 2020. Sometimes we just need a safe space to be ourselves and that is what I hope to give you.
I have volunteered as a bereavement support worker, and worked closely with young people and families as a Family Engagement Officer. I am passionate about continued personal development, attending supervision regularly and professional training workshops.
In my private practice I offer online or telephone support and ask that you find a safe and confidential space for you, as we work together.
