About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy(BACP). I am passionate about learning and supporting people navigate difficult periods of their life.
My integrative approach means I use a blend of therapies to support individual needs including Person-Centred, Brief Solution Model, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming(NLP), Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.
I am enthusiastic about inclusion, equality and encouraging positive relationships whilst keeping people safe. I adhere to the BACP guidelines regarding confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries and believe the relationship between myself and clients is the most important aspect of my practice. I believe an empathetic, non-judgemental and authentic therapeutic relationship can offer clients a safe environment where they can recover and begin to flourish and grow as individuals.
Practice description
I am currently a secondary school counsellor supporting students and children and young people with low-mood, anxiety, trauma, understanding relationships, grief and understanding and managing emotions. In private practice and as a school counsellor I work with clients who have autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences to create personalised support plans that foster both academic success and emotional well-being.
I adapt interventions to each individual clients whilst offering emotional and practical support promoting self-discovery and a positive well-being.
In previous work I have supported clients therapeutically in a university setting and currently in private practice for seven years integrating Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, NLP, grounding and relaxation techniques alongside running workshops for improving self-esteem and self-confidence.
I am passionate about offering each client a positive, safe and compassionate space to grow, feel respected and confident to feel heard and understood.
As an ethical counsellor I am working towards my BACP accreditation and believe in continuing professional development(CPD). I have found the keeping children safe in education(KCSIE) CPD course essential for working with children and young people in education, and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
