About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in eating disorders, including binge eating, emotional eating, weight loss struggles, and bulimia and have 17 years’ experience in health behaviour change and obesity prevention.
In addition to disordered eating, my counselling experience includes working with the legacy of abuse, including low self-esteem, body image issues, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, and self-harm.
It is rarely just about food. I support people to discover, understand and move past the issues beneath their unhelpful eating behaviours. Sessions often focus on getting freedom from constant thoughts about food and weight and escaping the cycle of yo-yo dieting and weight gain.
Therapy often involves helping clients discover and take charge of their hidden eating triggers to transform their relationship with food. I support people to discover what has prevented them from recovery in the past so they can overcome those things and live life without restriction or bingeing.
You may feel stuck, angry, and isolated: I’ve been there. You may feel that you know what you ‘should’ do but feel frustrated that you can’t seem to change.
I combine counselling, to understand, heal, and overcome the underlying emotional barriers, with the strategies and tools of coaching for moving forward.
I offer counselling, health coaching and a combination of both. I believe the combination of counselling and coaching is powerful for making lasting change.

Practice description
We can work together online, by phone, or in-person (Cambridgeshire - CB24), short- or long-term, and you can choose a consistent time each week or vary times/days to suit your schedule.
I offer counselling, coaching and a combination of the two:
- Counselling can help you understand your unhelpful eating behaviours and what is preventing you stopping, but by itself may not provide the strategies and energy to make change.
- Coaching provides proactive tools and techniques for change, but by itself may not have the depth to make change last.
- Combining counselling and coaching is powerful as it can allow you to do the underlying therapeutic work while making changes that last.
My first session
The relationship between client and therapist is important for successful therapy. You can find out if my style and approach suit you with a reduced price first session for £30, which you can book online through my website, or by email or phone.
The first session is a chance for you to share your story, for us to discuss what type of therapy might suit you and to decide whether you feel comfortable sharing with me. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions and discuss any of your concerns about therapy.
