About me and my therapy practice
The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the way we experience daily life, leaving many individuals with heightened levels of anxiety and depression. If you find yourself struggling more than ever to get out of bed, waking up feeling despondent, or experiencing frequent disruptions in your sleep patterns, you are not alone. It is crucial to acknowledge these feelings instead of brushing them aside, as doing so can lead to a cycle of discomfort and emotional distress.
I am here to support you through this challenging journey by exploring your experiences in greater depth. Together, we can identify the unique triggers of your anxiety and depression, helping you to gain a better understanding of your mental health. With tailored strategies and coping skills, we can work towards building a framework for permanent change in your emotional well-being. By equipping you with tools and techniques for managing anxiety and encouraging resilience, I aim to empower you in reclaiming control over your life and building a deeper sense of self-awareness and nurturing a mindset that thrives despite adversity.
Practice description
I work in private practice by telephone or online, offering adults 50 minute sessions using a number of different types of therapy.
By integrating various therapeutic modalities, I can tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. This holistic approach might incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to address maladaptive thought patterns, mindfulness-based practices to cultivate self-awareness and emotional regulation, and psychodynamic therapy to explore the root causes of trauma and its impact on relationships.
I prioritise building a strong therapeutic alliance, creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to share their experiences. This approach avoids triggering or retraumatizing the client, instead focusing on building resilience and fostering self-compassion.
My first session
The initial consultation is the crucial first step in our therapeutic journey together, allowing me to gain a comprehensive understanding of your current situation and the specific challenges you are facing. This initial session typically extends to 1.5 hours, providing ample time for a thorough exploration of your concerns and expectations for therapy. Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes long. To ensure a smooth and efficient process, payment of £55.00 for the initial consultation and £55.00 for each subsequent session is required a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment via bank transfer. This advance payment allows us to maintain a consistent and uninterrupted therapeutic experience.
