About me and my therapy practice
My name is Annick and I am a qualified Person-centred psychotherapist and counsellor. Life can be challenging at times and we can all need support for many reasons. As a Person-centred therapist I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space, listening to you carefully and thoughtfully. The Person-Centred Approach is a relational way of working which emphasises the importance of a genuine and accepting therapeutic relationship.
How you sense and perceive your experience is at the heart of our work together and so I try not to direct or advise. My intention is to sensitively attune to what comes up for you in each session, and so I am guided by the direction in which you wish to explore and I work at your pace. I respond to you in a conversation or dialogue, collaboratively exploring what feels relevant to you. This way of working can lead to greater clarity and self-awareness, it can help you to develop trust in yourself to find your own way forward, and can assist you in your development and healing.
I have worked with individual adult clients of varying ages and cultural and social backgrounds, with a range of concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, identity, change and transitions, bereavement, loss, work stress, health concerns, trauma, and relationship issues.
My psychotherapy training was at the Metanoia Institute in London. I hold an MSc and Clinical Diploma in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy (Metanoia/Middlesex) as well as a Diploma in Person-Centred Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I also hold a Master’s degree in Psychology. I adhere to the BACP and UKCP code of ethics.
Practice description
My grounding is in Person-centred therapy, and I draw on other approaches, depending on individual client need. I am fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy, and offer this valuable approach to help clients process any traumatic life events or experiences. Recent examples of my continued professional training include: Emotion Focused Therapy levels 1 and 2 (level 1 with Rhonda Goldman, and level 2 at the University of Strathclyde), Emotion Focused Therapy for Complex Trauma with Sandra Pavio, and Somatic Trauma Therapy with Babette Rothschild (a year long course).
Fees. I work with a sliding scale ranging between £65-£90 per weekly session based on annual household income. £90 is my standard fee per session for annual household income above £60k, £75 per session for annual household income between £41-£60k, and £65 per session for annual household income below £40k.
