About me and my therapy practice

I offer confidential, professional support in a relaxed and beautiful setting ~ exclusively for women. I work with whatever difficulties or challenges you may be facing, at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

I'm a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP), and I abide by their code of ethics. High standards are further ensured by regular supervision at the Institute of Psychosynthesis. I am also in on-going Psychosynthesis psychotherapy training.

The context of my work is Psychosynthesis, an approach to psychology developed by the Italian psychiatrist, Dr Roberto Assagioli. It is ultimately tailored to your needs and a co-creative process.

I hold that just as childhood is affecting our present living, so too is our vast human potential for healing and change. Repression of this higher potential can thus lead to psychological disturbances every bit as debilitating as repression of childhood trauma. As such, I work gently and sensitively with the various aspects of your being, accompanying you on a journey of self discovery, awareness and healing.

Practice description

My practice is based in The Lanes in the heart of Norwich, providing a confidential, nourishing space. Here, we can gently explore your feelings, fears and what may be holding you back, as well as your hopes and aspirations for the future. Where appropriate, and if you are willing, I incorporate techniques such as guided meditation, visualisations, inner-child journeying, basic somatic experiencing, and the exploration of your symbolic imagination and dream life.

You have control over how we work together, while whatever you choose to share with me can become fertile ground for self-knowledge, creativity and rejuvenation. Essentially, our therapy space is a collaborative, co-creational process in which I commit to supporting you in a deeper and more meaningful connection to your potential, helping you make more authentic choices around the life you want to lead.

Although I typically work face-to-face, I provide sessions online when you are not able to meet in person.

My first session

In our first session I will ask what has prompted you to seek therapy and a little about the issue that is troubling you. This will help build a context for our work together. I'll also ask you some basic, factual questions about yourself and your background.

At the end of the session you will have a feel for who I am and, most importantly, how you feel about working with me and that we're a good fit. Should you choose to go ahead, I will offer you a 'terms of working' document which provides mutual clarity, and a practical framework for our therapeutic relationship.
