About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Gemma Pyatt-Lonczyk, a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Staffordshire. My experience of choosing a Counsellor was that can be overwhelming and it is difficult to know who to choose. It can be at a time where you are feeling full up, with everything and choosing someone becomes an extra job on the list.
My video below gives an overview of what I believe are important factors in choosing a Counsellor...

Safe & Supportive Space…
I believe in the power of providing a non-judgmental space where you can truly be seen and heard as the unique wonderful person you are. It is my calling in life to create a safe and supportive place where you can explore your emotions, your past, and any current concerns at a depth and pace that feels comfortable for you.
You know yourself better than anyone. You may be having a period of time where you feel this is not the case, yet Counselling is a collaborative process, we create it together. It is not me telling you to do XYZ, me aim is always self empowerment.
It always amazes me the incredible progress clients make, things that I would not think of in my wildest dreams, as ways to heal.
It is a complex journey at times and the next steps are not always evident, but we journey through the unknown spaces together.

Let’s get to know each other…
I understand how overwhelming it can feel when selecting a Counsellor. At the heart of positive psychotherapeutic work lies a strong relationship between you and the Counsellor. This enables us to create a collaborative space that allows you to feel safe, supported and un-judged, which we can use as a foundation for our work together. With this in mind, I invite you for a complimentary initial check-in, usually over the phone or online.
This valuable conversation lets us establish a connection, share your story, and ask any questions you might have about how we'll work together so we can decide how I can best accompany you on this journey. Your comfort and well-being are my top priorities, and I am dedicated to offering you the utmost care and support throughout our time together.
