About me and my therapy practice
I’m Frank, a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
Is there something troubling or upsetting you, a part of your life you find yourself unable to ignore or make sense of? Perhaps you’re feeling as though happiness and fulfilment are somehow out of reach, or you’re struggling with longer-term challenges, such as stress, anxiety, low mood or depression. All of these issues, and more, can be addressed in counselling.
I offer space and time in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment to allow you to discuss problems and difficult feelings or experiences and aid you in finding a way forwards. Together we work to understand you better and make positive changes in your life.
I spent over a decade working as a writer and an editor, and, at heart, i’m passionate about what it means to be human, with all the messiness, uncertainty and challenges that entails. Therapy can be a space to tell and own your story, to take the pieces that don’t seem to add up and find a new way to fit them together. It can also be a place to let go of the things that no longer serve you, to start on a new chapter in your life.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I aim to help adults of all ages and backgrounds with a range of issues.
Practice description
My fee is £60 per session. Sessions can be in-person at The Grove in Ilkley or Evolve in Leeds, or offered remotely, via Zoom or the telephone.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and takes place weekly at the same time. I do also offer fortnightly sessions, but I recommend starting with six weekly sessions to build our working relationship.
I see clients both during the day and in the evening and will try to accommodate you at the earliest possibility. I also am able to offer some concessionary rate sessions – please ask if you think this might apply to you.
My first session
In my first session I carry out a brief assessment, so that I can get a better sense of you and you of me. Otherwise, the session is the same as any other: a space for you to explore what’s troubling you.
I offer an initial phone call before a first session to give you a sense of how I work so that you can decide if you want to start sessions with me.
