About me and my therapy practice
I am humanistically trained with my main approach grounded in Person Centred Therapy. What does this mean? It means that you can talk to someone who will ask the right questions to enable you to find the best answers for you; there is no judgement, and I won’t tell you what to do. You are free to explore the reasons why you have come to counselling and will be supported in finding your own solutions and a way forward that feels right and appropriate for you.
Practice description
Hello, I am Debby and I know from personal experience how daunting it can feel to reach out for some help and support.
But if you feel that you are struggling with emotions, or that they are 'all on top of you', or you would like to untangle your thoughts with someone who can listen and help you make sense of them in a warm and confidential environment, then please contact me.
Talking to a counsellor can help you better understand the changes happening in your life, explore what is important to you, and support you in better communicating your needs to those you have relationships with in your life. In our counselling sessions, you talk, I listen (and may also ask relevant questions) so that together we enable you to make changes to your life.
My first session
I offer a free, informal chat, usually over the phone so that we have an opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking counselling and check that working together is going to be right for us.
Following our initial chat, if we agree to work together, I will offer you a 50-minute counselling session, usually on a weekly/bi-weekly basis; although I can be flexible on the frequency of sessions if/when required.
