Availability

I work on Thursdays 1pm - 8pm and Fridays 9am - 5pm from my counselling room near Charing Cross in Glasgow offering in person and online sessions.

I am offering short term counselling for young people aged 11-18 over the summer school break.  Days and times for this are across the week.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Debi and I'm a psychodynamic counsellor.   I offer counselling for a wide number of issues. If you find yourself overwhelmed by difficult emotions, relationships or feeling stuck in life and want to understand yourself better, please get in touch.

I have a special interest in working with people affected by domestic abuse and I am LGBTQ+ inclusive in this work.

Recovering from coercive control or intimate partner violence and rebuilding self esteem can be very challenging and I offer a gentle and accepting approach to understanding and finding yourself again.

I have two years experience of counselling young people in a secondary school setting offering short and longer term therapy.

Practice description

Working Psychodynamically involves holding in mind that our past experiences can influence how we feel about the world, people, relationships and ourselves.  I offer a safe space to explore whatever may be going on for you and to get to a place of compassion for yourself and the confidence to move forward in your life.

I mainly work weekly, sessions would be at the same time and place each week.  However, I can offer flexibility so please do get in touch if you require any other accommodations.

My therapy room is not wheelchair accessible as the building does not have a lift however, I would be happy to arrange alternative accommodation given some notice.

My first session

The first contact following an enquiry would be a 15 minute phone call (if requested).

The first session would be a standard 50 minute session and would look at your reasons for coming to counselling and a chance for us to get to know each other.
