About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, I’m Dinah—an integrative counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My passion is helping people find healing, balance, and growth, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I bring a holistic approach to counselling, tailoring our work together to meet your unique needs. Whether you’re a young person, an adult, or someone navigating major life changes, I provide compassionate care in a warm, non-judgmental, and safe space where you can feel truly heard and supported.
I currently work as a school counsellor, supporting young people aged 11–18. Whatever challenges you’re facing, whether it’s anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or life transitions. Our work together is about empowering you to explore your feelings, uncover your strengths, and navigate your path forward with confidence.
My approach is flexible and integrative, drawing from a variety of therapeutic styles, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and person-centered therapy. This allows me to adapt to your individual needs and help you find what works best for you.
When we start, we’ll begin with an assessment; a chance to talk about what’s brought you here, explore your goals, and see how we can work together in a way that feels right for you. Think of it as the first step on a collaborative journey toward self-discovery and growth.
No matter where you are in life, you don’t have to face things alone. Let’s walk this path together.
Practice description
Therapy sessions are offered via video conference (Zoom, Teams or Skype) or telephone.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are recommended weekly to maintain continuity in the therapeutic process.
Therapy is predominately talking, however, on some occasions where needed other exercises, such as grounding work may take place to enable the individual to support their own self-regulation both in and outside therapy.
My first session
A free 20-minute initial meet and greet is offered to all clients. This gives me and the client a chance to discuss why they are seeking therapy, what they are looking for, and hope to gain from the process. It is also an opportunity to explain further how I work as a therapist.
If we decide this is a good fit and the client would like to proceed with therapy. We will arrange an assessment session. An assessment enables me to gather more information about your needs and history.
