About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative counsellor, located in South Woodford currently providing sessions exclusively online and over the phone. My approach to counselling rejects the notion of a one-size-fits-all solution, recognising that each client and situation is unique. By blending elements from various therapeutic approaches, I tailor my methods to suit the individual needs of each client.
In my role as your therapist, I'm committed to delving into and understanding your world alongside you. Drawing from psychodynamic, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy, I integrate three primary therapeutic theories and techniques to offer a personalized service. This allows me to adapt my approach to best fit your specific requirements.
My goal is to provide a safe space for individuals to navigate and process difficult life events. I create an environment that is confidential, empathetic, and free from judgment, where clients feel acknowledged, heard, and understood. This safe environment encourages autonomy and enables clients to explore their circumstances, seeking genuine and meaningful solutions to their challenges. This tailored approach enriches the counseling experience, making it more effective and relevant for each client.
The individuals I work with may be grappling with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, past trauma, low self-esteem, or confidence issues. If you're feeling stuck or unable to move forward due to your thoughts or experiences, I'm here to help. Whatever brings you to therapy, we'll work together to uncover meaning, purpose, and a way forward.
My experience includes working privately and with adolescents in a secondary school setting. In addition, I collaborate with a professional accreditation board offering group therapy sessions.
Practice description
Therapy sessions are offered via video conference (Zoom, Teams or Skype) or telephone.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are recommended weekly to maintain continuity in the therapeutic process.
Therapy is predominately talking, however, on some occasions where needed other exercises, such as grounding work may take place to enable the individual to support their own self-regulation both in and outside therapy.
My first session
A free 20-minute initial meet and greet is offered to all clients. This gives me and the client a chance to discuss why they are seeking therapy, what they are looking for, and hope to gain from the process. It is also an opportunity to explain further how I work as a therapist.
If we decide this is a good fit and the client would like to proceed with therapy. We will arrange an assessment session. An assessment enables me to gather more information about your needs and history.
