About me and my therapy practice
I provide online and telephone counselling throughout the UK, in addition to walk-and-talk therapy and home visits in the Salisbury area. I work flexibly, in order to fit around the demands of modern day life. I work weekdays, and also have some availability in the evenings and Saturday mornings.
The relationship between you and your counsellor is key to your therapy journey. You need to feel heard, understood and valued.
As an Integrative Therapist I offer a range of counselling approaches to suit you. Everyone has their own unique journey and story, and different approaches suit each of us for different reasons.
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1993 and have worked in the NHS in various roles ever since, before studying for a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling and subsequently a BSc(Hons) Degree in Therapeutic Counselling.
My aim is to walk alongside you in your therapy journey, and my approach ensures that you feel you can be open, heard and supported.
As an Integrative Therapist I have training in a number of different counselling approaches, and so our sessions will be tailored to the approach that suits you best.
I suffered with chronic pain for a number of years and found the use of a number of different techniques that were helpful. I understand the difficulties chronic pain and chronic illness can cause in everyday life, and the strain it can put on relationships.
I have previously volunteered for a counselling charity in Dorset, supporting victims of sexual trauma. I also currently volunteer at my local Hospice, supporting patients and their relatives who are facing terminal illness and bereavement.
I have 4 children, 2 of whom are autistic and so I understand the joys, as well as the challenges, of autism.
I aim to support you, to move from surviving, to thriving.
