I offer everyone interested in working with me as your therapist a free 10-15 minute phone call to talk through why you would like therapy, and explain how I work with clients, and to answer your questions.

I work with clients on Zoom - I have availability on Mondays.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a safe and collaborative space using cognitive behavioural therapy to explore the feelings, thoughts and behaviours that can be connected to your current issue. Together we will develop an understanding of how these affect you, and what keeps them going. We will work to develop tools and techniques that you can use, to encourage more healthy ways of thinking and responding, to gain better emotional balance and to reach your therapy goal.

CBT therapy follows evidence-based methods; I also like to give space for a holistic approach, using person-centred techniques, and I often also incorporate Mindfulness and Compassion Focussed elements in my work.

I can work with you on issues such as general anxiety, feeling 'stuck', depression, low self esteem, and social anxiety.

I am trained at post-graduate level, with a specialism in CBT. I have worked in inner-city health centres, and with NHS patients, as a CBT therapist. Before training as a therapist, my background was in teaching in Post-16 educational institutions, and I have a good connection working with younger people.

Post-Grad Diploma Therapeutic Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Client feedback:

I suffered from social anxiety after a house move and lockdown left me really isolated. I found it really hard to go out and talk to new people, I would sweat, clam up and think no-one would like me. Claire worked with me to become gradually exposed to social situations, and learn calming techniques. I can now socialise with colleagues and have joined an interest group. I feel more hopeful and confident about making friends, it's been a huge game changer.  Client CH

My constant anxiety and depression were making my day to day unbearable, I felt miserable yet stuck. Claire was really warm and friendly, easy to talk to, non-judgemental and gently nudged me towards ideas and techniques that, little by little, helped me turn my mood around. Client AM
