About me and my therapy practice
Having been a practitioner for many years, working with clients from childhood to adulthood, I know the range of benefits to all ages therapy can have. I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor, Child and Adolescent Integrative Psychotherapist and Group Facilitator working in Enfield, North London. Either One to One, in open ended therapy or solution-focused short term therapy depending on what is suitable for you at the present time. Alongside one to one therapy, Group Therapy has an important role to play in change. I am excited to announce that a new group will be starting in Enfield in January 2024. I am also a Clinical Supervisor.
I can help with a wide range of difficulties including trauma, anxiety, relationship, family, separation, and depression. Together we can explore the issues that are troubling you. I will provide a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space that will help us develop a unique therapeutic relationship that brings insight and understanding.
I facilitate the work, employing talking therapy alongside a variety of creative art techniques including sand, clay, and embodiment to help with self-expression and self-awareness. I hold a full enhanced DBS and follow the Child Protection regulations. I work to the ethical standards of my accrediting organisation: the BACP.
Practice description
With Adults.
Counselling offers a way to discover more about ourselves and to make changes through talking and reflection.
Initial Consultation
We will have an initial consultation of between 50 minutes to an hour, where we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and explore whether what I offer is appropriate for you and whether we feel we can work together. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. These meetings are confidential. I will listen without passing judgment and attempt to understand what is being said. Sometimes just by being truly heard and understood we can feel some sense of healing.
Psychodynamic therapy can be either open-ended, meaning we will continue to meet until it is decided that counselling is no longer required. Or short-term solution focused. The ending of therapy is very important and requires several sessions to round off the work.
With Children & Adolescents
I am a qualified Integrative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor, with a Masters's Degree. I work with children from 3 years of age upwards.
When working with children and adolescents I use a number of different mediums, for example, play therapy, sand tray, creative art, and talking therapy, to assist exploration of thoughts and feelings. This method is called Integrative Therapy, combining these therapies with child-centred and psychodynamic skills.
I offer a wide range of creative art and play materials including paints, clay, play figures, and sand for the child to use.
Each child is given their own box to store artwork in, which they take home on their last session.
I hold a full DBS and follow the Child Protection regulations.
Please note that I do not have a waiting area for parents. Apart from the initial consultation, sessions are held with the child alone.
