I am fully aware of the need to be flexible around appointment times, not only with time but also flexibility how I offer therapy, clients with children, clients working 9-5, clients working shift, we all have such individual needs. My first session is at 8am and my last 7pm, I do not expect clients to attend the same time each week unless this is their preference, everyone's needs can change week to week and I want to be able, where possible, to give my clients that flexibility, I offer Face to Face sessions or online sessions, or if needed a mixture of both.
My approach to my availability has come from working for several years and catering for client’s needs, realising that life commitments are always changing week to week and day to day, I want to be able to give clients a place where things are flexible and not add any further stress or anxiety. If the above does not offer what you want, please ask and we can see if your individual needs can be catered for.
About me and my therapy practice
My name is Peter and I hope you find these words of value, it is hard to get across in the written word "emotions" and "feelings", that is why I suggest to potential clients that we have a short chat or video call before committing, if you were buying a new car you would have a test drive! So pick out a few therapists engage with them all, before making your decision.
I aim to provide an approach that is unique for each person, embracing their individual needs, valuing their uniqueness, their individual belief systems or cultural background.
My training has exposed me to many of the main therapy styles including
Humanistic (Person Centred), Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Short Term Solution Based Therapy to name a few.
In my career I have worked supporting clients with many areas of life issues both past and present. I have worked extensively with Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, Addiction, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Panic Disorders, Low Self-Esteem and Low Self-Confidence. I also offer practical advice, business and life coaching drawing on a 30 + year high end business career.
The issues you have led you to visiting this site are valid to you, no matter how much your inner voice tells you " I've got everything in life, I could ever want, nice home, nice job, nice relationship with myself or a partner so I shouldn't feel like this" Don't fall into the trap of thinking "there's a lot more worse off than me in the world"
Value yourself enough to take a chance and find out what's going on for you, to try and work through the issues and see whats on offer.
Practice description
You are probably searching this site as something isn't sitting right within you, it could be work overload, life overload, personal feelings overload. I suspect the fact your here is it's too much for you to deal with alone.
When we find our self in this place, we feel there is nowhere to turn, the situation seems overwhelming and our coping mechanisms have stopped working, in our sessions we will unpack everything and try and make some sense of it.
When we begin our sessions we will start by looking at what's going on for you, what's the most pressing issue, what it could be linked to, what boundaries you could put in place to make things in your life better?
Sometimes the sessions are just a place you can come and get things out that you may not feel comfortable telling family friends or loved ones about, we can unpack all whats going on in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space.
The aim is for us to build a safe, discreet and confidential space to enable you freely to explore your thoughts and feelings, in your time, at your pace away from the rigour and breakneck speed of life.
Being trained in and exposed to many types of therapy I do not see myself as a purist, all my clients are individuals, all their issues are unique, therefore a one size fits all type of therapy isn't the best option in my opinion, I use a blended approach using all different styles and life experiences as long as they are appropriate and I feel of value to my clients.
30 years ago I made a life changing decision to see a therapist about my own life issues, that decision has had lasting positive impact to my life. This led to my journey into therapy, allowing healing and ongoing growth, culminating in my decision to train as a therapist. I am the owner of many very extreme life experiences, working through these with a therapist are the basis of my emotional stability and emotional wellness, these experiences are my bedrock for being non-judgmental to all.
My first session
Before we agree to work together I will always have a 15 minute zoom session (no charge) so clients can ask questions, get a "feel" for the process and get a "feel" for me.
It is important that clients are "sure" when choosing their therapist, it’s a big decision, so time needs to be taken when making this choice.
Make a list, ask questions, find out what is on offer for you.

Practice description
Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in a place, where our coping strategies or abilities to manage in life are no longer working and those close to us are unable to help. We need someone who is not part of our lives to listen to us and more importantly, hear us; to help us to see things from a different perspective, to help us work things through and gain a sense of ourselves again.
I have experience in working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem issues, bereavement and panic disorders.
My aim is to give you a safe, discreet and confidential space to enable you freely to explore your thoughts and feelings, in your time, at your pace away from the rigour and breakneck speed of life.
