About me and my therapy practice
Have you been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and/or depressed? Perhaps you’re feeling stuck, or trapped by the past? Does this come from a place of trauma, bereavement and or relationship issues? Maybe you’re feeling that your self-esteem and confidence is low?
Whatever it is that brings you here, it can be difficult to reach out and take the first steps when you need support. We are all individual, unique and diverse. The reasons for seeking therapeutic support are as individual as you.
The relationship we have with ourselves can feel difficult and disconnected when we experience any of the above. I support clients 13+ to reconnect to themselves and their needs.
What you bring to the world is yours to uniquely offer and I’d like to help you connect to yourself, find and build self-awareness. The relationship you have with your self is important, it is the one you are in for a lifetime.
I can support you by offering a warm, open and non-judgmental space where I aim for you to feel supported, safe, accepted and heard. The most important foundation of the counselling process; is developing a safe, trusting, therapeutic relationship. It is at the heart of the work we do together. This means that I value you and your experiences. I am interested in how you view yourself, relationships and the world around you.
Practice description
My therapy rooms are based in both Exeter and Plymouth. I also offer online counselling countrywide.
We will work collaboratively to explore any issues you are facing and identify inner resources to manage these. Together we develop tools that help you find balance, self-confidence and enjoyment. No matter what you want to explore or the outcome you are seeking, I offer a compassionate and collaborative space in which to do this.
I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Leeds. I am a fully qualified and insured member of the BACP. I have extensive knowledge, training and experience working with trauma and in a trauma informed way. I come from a creative background, having studied fine art at undergrad before embarking on this journey. I feel that my creativity naturally flows into my therapeutic practice.
I practice using an integrative and holistic approach. Working in an integrative way allows me to draw on different therapeutic approaches (person centred, psychodynamic, gestalt & creative) and their various tools and techniques. This allows for an openness and flexibility to mould my approach to meet your needs.
My first session
I offer an initial free fifteen minute consultation call. This is an opportunity for us to meet and for me to get an understanding of what is bringing you to counselling. It can give you a sense of how I work and it is also a chance for you to raise any concerns or questions you may have about the therapeutic process.
If you are interested in booking an initial call, please get in touch via phone or email.
