About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Sam, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. As a person-centred psychotherapist, I provide a safe and confidential space where we can work through what you're dealing with. I work with young people and adults (12+) in order to help them grow and work towards a happier life. I really pride myself on my ability to build and maintain healthy and positive client relationships, as I believe this is a key element of therapeutic progress.
I have a great deal of experience working in schools with young people, with a wide range of issues, including: anxiety, depression, trauma, identity and sexuality related issues. With vast experience in working with adults, I am able to work confidently with the issues listed below on my profile.
I hope to hear from you soon, please feel free to get in touch with any questions.
Practice description
I take a whole picture approach to my therapeutic work, getting to know clients and what is important for them, and why. My approach to working is a beginning-to-end approach, meaning that my focus is taking clients from where they are to where they want to be. I take great enjoyment in helping clients work toward their goals, and in supporting them in achieving a better relationship and understanding of themselves while doing so. I work in a person-centred way with clients 12 and above. I have experience working with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-esteem related issues, trauma and abuse.
I offer a comprehensive therapeutic approach, informed by my education and experience in working with both children and young people (12+) and with adult clients. Additionally, I offer parent/guardian support sessions where beneficial to my clients and also offer consultations with other professionals when working with young people, such as schools.
As part of my practice, I offer a free-of-charge 20-30 minute consultation where we can get an idea of what is important for you and where we can establish if I’m a good fit for you. Please feel free to reach out to me if you, or your child, are in need of therapeutic support.
My first session
I offer a free of charge 15/20 minute consultation for adults (16+), and a 20/30 minute consultation for parents and those 14+. If you are a parent seeking help for a young person, please feel free to reach out, I offer to work in a collaborative way with parents to ensure they feel supported while their child is engaged in therapy.
