About me and my therapy practice

As a Humanistic counsellor, I firmly believe in promoting your autonomy and gaining an understanding of your experiences with a caring, compassionate, empathetic, warm, and accepting way of being.

I offer you a safe, confidential space for non-judgemental support to explore your struggles with life’s challenges and difficult emotions. I aim to provide the foundation on which we can build a trusting, equal rapport to explore your distress, relationships, behavioural patterns, or any other issues you wish to talk through.

Establishing this collaborative relationship will be key to our work together, facilitating insight, and creating opportunities for personal growth, positive change, and acceptance.

I am inclusive of all communities, identities, and differences.

As well as working in private practice I continue counselling at the Fountain Centre situated within Guildford’s Royal Surrey Hospital providing support for cancer patients and their families. As part of my work there, I specialise in counselling women with Gynaecological cancers for GRACE Charity. All of my work has been very varied, and I have gained experience in working with a number of issues, including:

Anxiety, relationship issues, identity problems, emotional and physical abuse, grief, stress, family problems, low self-esteem, isolation, disabilities, health or age concerns, long-term or terminal illness, addictions, sexual issues, social injustices, and autism.

I provide home visits and walk-and-talk therapy, I also have a dedicated counselling room in Weyhill, Haslemere, with wheelchair access by request.

Client testimonials:

"Therapy with Sally has been truly transformative and life-changing. She is a very sensitive and intuitive space holder and I felt completely safe, held and seen in her sessions. She is fully present, non-judgmental and compassionate, and she brought just the right mix of guiding the session and giving me the room to go deep and find what I needed to express. She listens deeply and is very attuned to emotion and energy - she was fantastic at inviting me to pause and be with an emotion more deeply, or to sit with something that came up or reflect on it. She can hold space for very difficult emotions and memories, and she was robust about validating my feelings, putting situations in context and showing me ways to advocate for myself and strengthen my boundaries. Sally is so authentic, humble and powerful as a person too, so her presence is very healing and restorative. I was absolutely at the end of my tether and didn't know what to do when I got in touch with Sally, I had lost all my confidence and was traumatized and hypervigilant to a large degree, as well as still running on childhood trauma patterns. I came to therapy for support as I had no idea how to go forward in life. I seriously had no idea therapy would be like that or I'd have done it sooner! I also know that I'll have a great support in Sally in the future if and when I need it. Thank you so much, Sally, you are an absolute master at what you do!" Kelly M
