About me and my therapy practice

There are times when we can feel overwhelmed by thoughts and feelings or life events, or find ourselves repeating patterns of behaviour that have become unhelpful or distressing. Regular sessions with a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist offers you professional support to gain understanding and implement change.

I can help you to reflect and focus on what you really want and need. By thinking together about why you feel sadness, anxiety, frightened, anger, stuck - or whatever words you would use to describe how you are feeling - we can set you on the path to a more fulfilling life.

One of the most important aspects when beginning therapy is finding a therapist who feels right. This is because the relationship between client and therapist is important to the overall success of the work. You should feel comfortable, safe, and connected in the therapy relationship. Trust and respect in this non-judgemental, boundaried setting encourages open communication, deep understanding, and personal growth.

Each client is unique and the work we do together will be unique. This is your space and your time, and we go at your pace. Working psychodynamically can lead to lasting change. Your committment to the process can help you to gain deeper understanding of the different aspects of your life. We might talk about family, friends, past and present events, relationships, everything that makes you the person you are. This helps us to make sense of your experiences, enabling you to gain confidence, feel in control, and ultimately experience a more fulfilled life.

I look forward to meeting you.
