About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative counsellor with a holistic approach. I have over 10 years experience of working within the mental health sector supporting individuals in crisis or needing long-term practical support. I am passionate about working with diverse client groups and making therapy accessible to clients from all backgrounds therefore, I also offer therapy in Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi.
I qualified as a counsellor with a degree in Integrative Counselling. I have since started master’s in clinical psychology and working towards Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. My qualifications and life experiences have contributed to the development of my practice and enabled me to understand a more holistic understanding of my clients’ journey.
I work ethically and my practice is guided by the principles set out by BACP. I am fully insured, and I undertake regular supervision as per BACP recommendations. I offer a sensitive and confidential approach to whatever seems to be the issue in the moment regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, religion and culture.
Alongside working in my private practice, I currently work as a part of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s counselling team. I have previously worked for a local Domestic Abuse Charity supporting victims of abuse which has given me the skills and tools to work with individuals who are experiencing PTSD due to experience of trauma.
Practice description
I endeavour to create a welcoming environment and to listen in a non-judgemental way to enable you to talk about your feelings and experiences. It is a collaborative process concentrating on what is important to you. Counselling goes at your pace and according to your needs.
I use a variety of approaches, tailored to suit your individual needs. I can help connect with earlier experiences to start to heal trauma and remove blocks which may be affecting you in the present. Much of my work involves empowering clients who struggle with low self-esteem or self-worth. Sometimes, life gets too much and can feel out of control or overwhelming, I can help you untangle the chaos and find your way again. I encourage clients to try techniques such as mindfulness and meditation as tools for stress relief and grounding.
My first session
First session will be an assessment session, to assess your need and look at what you want to bring to counselling.
If you are interested, please get in touch and we can arrange a time that is convenient for us to talk about whether I am the right counsellor for you. The Initial 15 minutes telephone consultation is free of charge with no obligation for you to continue.
Email is the quickest way to contact me but if you call the number provided, please leave a voicemail, so I can return your call or please send me a text requesting initial consultation/information.
If you are happy to go ahead once we have spoken, paperwork will be emailed for you to read and approve, prior to the assessment session.
