I am currently available to take on new clients.
I offer a reduced rate for your first appointment and charge £45 for the hour. This will give you an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the counselling process before deciding to commit to further sessions. It will also help me to understand more about your circumstances and what it is you are hoping to achieve from counselling.
Following this, sessions can be scheduled weekly or fortnightly.
About me and my therapy practice
Are you searching for Self-Esteem?
You want to make new friends, get into a relationship or move forward in your career but self-doubt is getting in the way?
Counselling can help you to build on your confidence so that you can make the steps you need to live a happier, more fulfilling life.
Does your heart sink on a Sunday night knowing you have to go back to your dead-end job?
Do you feel unsupported at work but don’t know how to speak up and ask for help?
Maybe the problem is outside of work, do you wish you had more meaningful relationships but lack the confidence to meet people?
I know it can be daunting booking your first counselling appointment, but by doing so you are bravely inviting positive changes into your future.
I can help you to believe in yourself by helping you to :
· Talk about you in a safe space without being judged
In your counselling sessions you can lay everything out on the table, without anyone who knows you listening in. You can sound things out with me that you would like to try one day without being told what you should be doing instead.
· Understand what causes your self-doubt
By exploring your self-doubt, together we can work out where your beliefs come from and unpick unhelpful thought patterns.
· Work out your next steps
You can figure out with me what it is that you want to achieve and where you want to get to and together we can work out what the next steps are for you to get there.
My experience as a counsellor has shown me that regardless of the presenting issue, the main tool that people need from counselling is to restore the beliefs they have about themselves.
My previous clients have told me that therapy has enabled them to feel more optimistic about making changes and trying new things. They feel more able to progress at work, start new conversations and feel relaxed in new surroundings without the fear of self-doubt creeping in.
So if you are ready to start believing in yourself please get in touch to book your first appointment.

My first session
It's normal to feel nervous when trying something different and counselling is no exception! The first session is designed with this in mind and so there are no trick questions and I will do my best to help you feel calm and actually enjoy the appointment.
Part of person centred counselling is about working at the client's pace and so I will not ask you to share anything you are not ready to. The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and you to get to know me a bit more. We can then outline what it is that you hope to achieve from your sessions and what you think it would look like when you no longer need to work with me.
I want to make sure you feel comfortable and safe whether we are working online/telephone or in the same room together. If there is anything you need from me to do this I invite you to let me know so we can work together and build a therapeutic relationship based on respect and shared understanding.

I am currently in the process of completing my supervision training hours and creating my supervision practice. I have availability for new supervisees and can offer online sessions or if you have a suitable work space I can come to you to deliver supervision in your counselling room. There may be a small additional charge for travel depending on your location. I am available on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day and have evening appointments available throughout the week too.
You can book a session directly on my website:
www.selfcentrecounselling.com
Here you can see my availability and choose the appointment date and time that's right for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I know the challenges that us counsellors can face and am here to help you navigate them. I am dedicated to helping you become the best counsellor you can be.
Why Choose Me?
I am a friendly and relaxed person and I pride myself on being down to earth and approachable. I love being a counsellor but also understand the pitfalls and difficulties that this career can involve. I started counselling because counselling helped me believe in myself and my practice is about helping clients to believe in themselves and what they can achieve.
I believe that my skills, knowledge and experience can help you to build confidence in your abilities so you too can believe in your abilities and reach your full potential as a counsellor.
I think that like the work we do with our clients, an effective and supportive supervision is based on the relationship that we have. Therefore I think it important for us to get to know each other. By understanding more about who you are and how you work, I believe I will be best placed to help you work out what you need from supervision.
Please get in touch if you'd like to book an informal appointment where we can work out if we are a good fit.
I look forward to hearing from you!
About me:
I am a Registered BACP Member, currently applying for Accreditation.
I am a Qualified Integrative Counsellor: My training was person- centre focussed but also covered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches.
I have several years of experience working with Trauma: I started working in Victim Support in 2018 and qualified as a counsellor in 2021. My placement hours were with Someone Cares, a charity supporting Survivors of abuse and since qualifying I have worked as a counsellor for Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland.
Alongside working for Rape Crisis I have my own private practice and I am now adding supervision to the services I offer.
Please get in touch to know more.
Practice description
What I Offer:
Regular Supervision: I know how important supervision is in helping you to navigate what is going on for you in your practice and I can offer regular support to help you feel you are not alone.
Skill Development: I can share my knowledge and perspective to help you to enhance your counselling techniques and build confidence in your abilities. I can support you whether you are an experienced counsellor or are newly qualified to explore new avenues and work out what parts of counselling you would like to look into further.
Safeguarding Advice: I will help you to manage safeguarding issues as they arise with your clients. I understand the risks that can be involved in working with individuals and will work with you to ensure you feel that both you and your clients are safe.
Criminal Justice Processes: Having previously worked for Victim Support and now working for Rape Crisis, I have a good understanding of pre-trial therapy and what this entails. I can help you to feel confident working with clients who are involved with the criminal justice system.
Self-Care Strategies: While supervision is largely about client work, I have often found supervision useful when it has helped me to learn about myself. I offer my time to also help you look at and understand more about your needs and help you to maintain your own well-being. As they say "you can't pour from an empty cup", I think this is such an important element of supervision.
Professional Growth: I believe that my approach will help you to feel supported to get what you need from our sessions to help you put the steps in place to achieve your career aspirations.
My first session
Fancy talking over a cuppa?
I think it is really important that we spend some time together initially going through what you would like to get out of supervision. I therefore offer a no obligation first appointment where we can both see how we work together. I can do this online or I can come to you - there may be an additional travel charge depending on your location.
At the first session, should you wish to continue working with me, we will go through a contract and agree on a regular time slot for your appointments.
Please be aware that as I am currently a supervisor in training I am charging £35 per hour. I will agree to charge this price for the first six sessions, however, it is likely that my fee will increase after this time.
