About me and my therapy practice
There may be many reasons why you are visiting my profile today, life might feel difficult or overwhelming right now. You might be looking for support through a painful time.
Whether you are looking to find some peace, or to explore past or present events that are impacting your life; I will offer a safe, non- judgemental space for you to freely explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
My aim is to help you to feel understood, accepted, and comfortable to be completely 'you'.
I am a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor; I have experience with helping clients to manage and cope with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement and childhood abuse. I have a special interest in childhood emotional neglect (CEN).
In addition, I have experience and an interest in working with clients who are dealing with a child with a medical diagnosis and the associated stress and emotional impact this has within a family.
I feel honoured to be part of someone’s unique journey, to build trust, in the hope of creating meaningful connections. My belief being that a strong therapeutic relationship, along with the right conditions present, can be the most powerful tool in the healing process.
Person-Centred Counselling puts you, the client at the centre of the work. It can be a supportive and collaborative process. I will listen to you without judgement and we can work together to process aspects of your life, gaining insight into your feelings or behaviour. Counselling may help to make sense of your experiences, bringing peace or clarity.
Practice description
When choosing a counsellor, it’s so important to find a therapist that feels like a good fit, I see myself as a warm and empathic counsellor. I predominantly offer online Counselling via Zoom, and I have some availability for Face-to-face sessions from my therapy room in Bedford town centre. I currently offer short- and long-term counselling to adults over 18.
My first session
I am happy to answer any questions you have. We can have an initial brief consultation to discuss your counselling needs.
After this, if you would like to, we can arrange a first assessment session, which is 50 mins and a full payable session. In our first session I will offer a safe confidential space for you to explore and talk more about your challenges, the impacts these are having on your life and aspects of your personal history. The first session will give you an opportunity to discuss your expectations from therapy and for us to see whether we feel we can work together effectively.
