About me and my therapy practice
I value enabling you to feel met in a safe and trusting relationship, as a foundation for exploring anything that may be holding you back from finding peace and fulfilment in life. I aim to create a relationship of deep understanding, acceptance and empathy, for you to feel seen and heard fully.
My basic training was as a Person-Centred and Intergrative counsellor (CBT and Psychodynamic). However, my specific interest and further training is in Somatic Interventions - Embodied Processing and Focusing, which allows us to use the subconscious/felt sense/body to inform your therapeutic journey, which we would agree to use if suitable.

Practice description
I work from a quiet residential space, in Easton/Eastville. Please note I have a cat. There is always (free) parking on the street.
Originally from Scotland, I’ve lived here in Bristol for 20+yrs. I've previously lived in Canada, Australia, France and the Middle East, and travelled throughout Asia. This life experience helps me connect with a wide range of people.
People come to therapy for many different reasons.- Maybe things are at crisis point,
- Or something significant has happened for you recently,
- Or it has slowly dawned on you that things aren't quite right,
- Or you've been putting off coming to therapy for a while but know you need to talk to someone.
I have a specific interest in working somatically (with the subconscious in the body) with issues around trauma, self harm and abuse. I charge a sliding scale from £40-£50 per hour.

About me and my therapy practice
I work supportively and sensitively, cultivating a compassionate inquisitive approach. I have recently trained in Somatic therapy/using the body (Embodied Processing) & Focusing/using the felt sense, to allow us to access your sub-conscious to understand emotional imprints and help release emotional blocks.
My basic training was Integrative Counselling: a Person-centred approach with tools from Psychodynamic (past influences) and CBT (thoughts / emotions / behaviour understanding) approaches. However I've found myself, and clients, increasingly drawn to deeper ways of working - hence my recently training in Embodied Processing and using Creative Techniques. Therefore, in addition to building a fundamentally therapeutic relationship, we can jointly agree to use these techniques, if relevent, as we go.
I have over 10 years experience in Bristol Universities, Women's Crisis helpline and Private Practice, helping clients with issues such as depression, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, gender identity, self harm and anxiety.
