About me and my therapy practice

I work to understand your experiences, get to the root of issues or concerns and explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, strengths and desired way forward.
I am trained in Integrative Counselling which means I am trained in lots of different modalities but I will work on an individual basis to see how we will best work together.

Practice description

Sometimes life can be hard, confusing and difficult to navigate and choosing a therapist can be a daunting task; whether it is your first time reaching out or whether you have had counselling previously and are reaching out again.

Whatever you are struggling with, counselling could help. Counselling with me provides a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to share what brought you here, the impact it is having on you and how you are feeling. I will support and encourage you to begin making sense of how you are feeling.

Counselling can help you to gain a greater understanding and awareness of yourself, helping to process emotions or events and ensuring that you feel heard and understood. Sometimes there are specific concerns, situations or challenges that you want to talk about, and sometimes counselling can just be that safe space to talk.

During our sessions together, I hope to provide a space which feels friendly, welcoming and comfortable for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and sense of self.

Clients describe me as calm, understanding and caring. I have worked with a range of different clients from 16 years to 95 years and I believe that there is no ”one size fits all” in counselling; no person or situation is the same. Issues that I have worked with before include; anxiety, depression, feeling “stuck”, grief, loss, trauma, relationship issues and stress. We will go at your pace, I won't provide opinions or advice but I will encourage you to develop confidence in your own ability to problem solve and explore events, thoughts, feelings and anything else that may feel important.

My first session

During the first session, this will be an opportunity to get to know each other and see how we might work together.

This session may explore your reasons for accessing counselling, how things are impacting you and how you may wish to move forward.
