About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Person-Centered Counsellor with experience in using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and creativity activities when words and experiences are hard to express. I have extensive experience working with mental health and trauma with clients in supported housing which gives me a depth of experience.
Asking for help, talking about what bothers you, and taking steps to understand your experience can sometimes feel overwhelming and require bravery to face. Sometimes our internal world can be a lonely and confusing place, and we become stuck in our experience, yet feel a need to change, or explore the stuckness. My sessions provide space to be heard and listened to without judgement. A opportunity to explore the complexity of your experience in a comfortable, warm and friendly space, where we process what you bring at your pace, in a way that helps you find new meaning and clarity. Whether that is understanding your relationships, wanting to change your job, process grief or stop feeling so depressed.
I work with 16+ teenagers, adults and student counsellors. There is a wide range of reasons to come to counselling which doesn't always fit into a box, however here are some areas I have worked with before; anxiety, depression, stress, life challenges and well-being, low self-esteem, ADHD, relationships, trauma, sleep issues, bereavement and grief and loss including life and job changes. I work with all religions and beliefs, however, have particular experience working with the Christian faith and have connections with Charis Counselling, Brighton www.chariscounsellingbh.co.uk
