About me and my therapy practice
Deciding to start therapy is a big step for many people and, it is vitally important to feel safe and in good hands. Acknowledging this, I underwent several years of rigorous training at accredited training institutes, and have spent over ten years working in clinical, charity and educational settings. I offer counselling and psychotherapy for children, teenagers and adults, online and in-person. I also offer parent-work, a reflective space focused on the parent-child relationship.
I agree, that the therapeutic alliance is central to the activation of change in individuals. We will work together to create a safe environment and an approach that meets your needs, focusing on what you want to gain from therapy. My skills are integrative, and a psychodynamic framework informs my thinking. I am also trained in the facilitation of the arts in therapy. Young people, children and adults who find non-verbal communication helpful, are welcome to use the arts and play alongside taking therapy.
Before opening this practice, a large portion of my work took place in schools, including managing several school based therapy services, and providing supervision to trained and trainee therapists. Most recently, I worked in a specialist NHS service, supporting survivors of acute and historic sexual abuse. As a result of my work, I now specialise in several clinical areas.
These include:
Sexual violence, including pre-trial cases
Trauma recovery
Children & young-people
General Counselling
