About me and my therapy practice

We recognise that life is hard and find ourselves spending a lot of time helping and supporting others with life while putting ourselves on the back burner.

We can feel stuck, lost or overwhelmed and not know how to move forward. A little extra support at these times can help to explore and make sense of our feelings, understand how or why we find ourselves in this position and, potentially, realise the skills to navigate through our situation.

Sometimes the space and support that we need to share our feelings needs to be away from family, friends, social media?!

I can offer a confidential, safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore what is going on, and work through life experiences, understanding thoughts and feelings with a view to becoming more aware of what has or is happening and identifying new pathways and options to help move forward.

Counselling isn’t necessarily about working on your issues, problems or relationships, counselling is about working on you.

Practice description

My name is Rachel Bradbury and I am a qualified, BACP registered therapist and supervisor working in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

I have varied experience working both previously and currently with both adults and young people and offer one-to-one counselling sessions for both, (age 14 and above) either face to face (in my room or in yours) or online.

My way of working is to personalise our sessions, tailoring them to your individual needs, this is based on my own reflections of  therapy and lived experience.

I aim to build a trusting, open and confidential relationship and believe that, by working together we can increase your capacity for achieving your goals, creating personal change and feeling more in control of yourself and your life.

I have eleven years’ working experience supporting others in the education sector (secondary schools and further education colleges), the NHS and the VCS (Voluntary and Community Sector) as well as 4 years voluntary experience with The Samaritans.

My first session

Initially, I can offer a free 20 minute on-line or face to face session centred around introductions. Introducing each other, introducing and understanding what brings you to therapy, introducing any fears, questions, hopes or expectations you have and establishing if we feel comfortable working together.

We will also need to gather some information in terms of personal details and any relevant history or circumstances.

This first meeting also gives you time to think about whether counselling is the right place for you at this time, and I will fully support you, whatever you decide to do. There is no requirement to sign up to a certain number of sessions and you are free to stop our sessions at any time.

I fully understand that this can be a big, unfamiliar and scary decision and is not entered into lightly. If you are unsure if therapy is for you or want to find out more about who I am and how I work please do not hesitate to get in touch.

About me and my therapy practice

Good therapeutic supervision offers numerous advantages for both therapists and clients. It provides a structured space for therapists to reflect on their practice, receive feedback, and ensure they are offering the highest standard of care.

Overall, supervision fosters continuous learning, supports mental health professionals in their work, and ultimately improves client outcomes.

Please note - I have recently completed my training and, as I continue to gain experience, I am offering my services at a reduced rate in the short term.

Practice description

Just like my counselling practice, I take an integrative approach to supervision, utilising various models to help foster your autonomy and unlock your full potential.

I provide a supportive environment where you can grow and refine your professional practice, whether as an individual therapist or as part of a workplace team.

As a supervisor, my role is to help you become more attuned to your internal processes, encouraging you to reflect on and manage your emotional responses and experiences in your clinical work. I aim to enhance your awareness of how you present yourself to clients and invite you to explore how your own unresolved conflicts might influence the therapeutic relationship.

I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be both supported and challenged.

My first session

I have recently completed my training and, as I continue to gain experience, I am offering my services at a reduced rate.

This allows me to refine my skills while providing you with high-quality support at a more accessible price.

I am excited to continue growing and learning, and I appreciate your understanding as I build my experience.

I can offer a free 15 - 20 minute phone call for potential supervisees for us both to check whether we feel that we might be the right 'fit' as supervisor and supervisee.

We then have our first supervisory session at which contracting will be included to work with each other and discuss our working agreement.

I am happy to offer supervision in blocks of 1 hour, 1.5 hours as required.

£40/ hour of supervision & £60 for 1.5 hours (Qualified Counsellors).

£30/ hour & £45/1.5 hours (trainees/students).
