About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes people feel the need to seek a change in their lives.
When that happens, it can help to have someone to talk to, someone who is there just for you – whose focus is on how you feel, and on what you want and need. Someone who will listen to what you say; and work together with you on whatever issues you want to address.
As an "integrative" counsellor (drawing on elements from many different types of therapy), I work with clients to find the approach that best suits who they are now, and where they want to be in the future.
Whatever the reason is for your search today, you will want to know that the counsellor you decide to meet with is professionally trained, ethical and experienced, as well as approachable, empathetic and compassionate.
As a qualified counsellor (Dip. Therapeutic Couns), and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work to provide such support in an open, calm and non-judgemental way – either in person or remotely (online or over the phone).
As a practising counsellor, I have regular professional supervision and follow the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. As well as private practice, I have also worked, for the last 2 1/2 years, as a counsellor in the voluntary sector, with Cruse Bereavement Support - working with individuals affected by grief and loss.
Finding a counsellor that you can work with sometimes takes a few tries, and it's important that you find someone you can build a good working relationship with. If you'd like any more information about me or how I practice, please, feel free to call or email me – I am only too happy to answer any of your questions. Thank you.
Practice description
Sessions last 50 minutes and flexible appointment times are available (Monday - Saturday).
I work from a professional and convenient location in Wells (with free parking always available nearby and the Wells Bus Station just a one-minute walk away).
I can offer reduced rates/concessions for some clients – we can talk about this during the initial free consultation phone call.
Fees can be paid by cash or bank transfer.
My first session
I offer an initial free half-hour consultation by phone (to get to know each other and to give you an opportunity to feel if I might be the right person for you to work with).
The first full session (also £50) can be up 1 hour and 20 minutes (to allow time for you to talk through any issues you want to; to discuss how we might work together; and to go through the information sheet and contract).
