About me and my therapy practice

Working face-to-face and/or online with Zoom, and/or by telephone.

My aim is to provide a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to feel comfortable exploring issues, thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

The first step is important, realising that there may be another way forward.  My counselling philosophy is that through compassionate exploration about thoughts and feelings, about how and why we think and feel a certain way, we can start to work through about how we might manage some positive change.

People come to counselling for many reasons, for example experiencing difficulties such depression, anxiety, distress, anxiety, panic, and confusion. Additionally, people can find it helpful to talk when dealing with bereavement, experience of abuse, feelings of low self esteem, understanding the impact of neuro-divergence and much more.

I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor and am curently in advanced clinical psychotherapy training. This training is 4 years face-to-face, and is post-counsellor qualification.

Prior to counselling and psychotherapy training, I worked in industry for 20 years, in finance, and I also have a body of life experience to bring to my practice.

I am trained in Person Centred (Talking) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis. My ongoing training is in Transactional Analysis, which is a theory of childhood, personality and relationships. In addition I use Polyvagal Theory to support clients to understand how their own unique Autonomic Nervous System responds in times of regulation and disregulation.

The theories above support me to work with you as a unique individual.

If you would like to consider counselling therapy, I suggest an initial 20 minute telephone conversation for us to chat through what you might be looking for from counselling therapy. This is free of charge.

I have experience of working within the NHS, and am now in private practice.
