About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced person counsellor with over 4 years of experience and 750 client hours through the NHS and numerous health insurance companies. I also have a postgraduate diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy.

My work is fundamentally based on creating a safe, confidential and non judgemental space for you to share whatever may be impacting you in life. I am here to listen to you, empathise with you and make you feel heard and respected

I have experience counselling in the NHS and have worked with individuals ranging from the ages of 18-80. Everyone is welcome at my practice! I'd love to work with you.

Reaching out for support can be difficult and scary, especially if it's your first time accessing therapy. However my main goal is to support you through the process at your own pace and to help faciliate some change. The therapeutic journey is always worth it and I'm here to help you along the way.

Practice description

I offer person centred counselling where the aim of therapy is to create a space where there is no judgement, you feel empathised, heard and supported. Person centred counselling is a non directive approach, where the therapeutic space gives you the opportunity to explore your internal world at your own pace and I am here to help discover things about yourself that you might not know are there.

It's important to understand that individuals experience life events and mental health issues very differently and your experience is unique to yourself and is very valid.

I also have significant knowledge regarding South Asian Culture & Islam and I can incorporate this into therapy sessions to deeper understand your experience in a way that some other therapist might not.

I have significant experience working with; anxiety, depression, burnout, work stress, grief, loss, low self esteem, relationship issues, parental issues, narcissism, abuse, anger management, difficulty saying no.

I also can offer solution focused brief therapy which is similar to counselling where the belief is that the client has the solution to their own issues and I'm here to collaborate with you to help find those solutions. This can be useful for work stress and burnout.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute initial consultation via telephone or video call. This allows you to experience an introduction into counselling and discuss briefly what you would like to gain from starting counselling. It's a good opportunity to explore your expectations from counselling and see if we are a good fit to work together therapeutically

Once we agree to work together, I offer 50 minute sessions weekly. I offer 10 sessions initially and you have the option to extend these also for long term work.
